The San Diego Psychological Association

New applicants must submit the required supporting documentation for the category of membership in which they are applying.  This documentation can be e-mailed to the SDPA office at members@sdpsych.org, faxed to 858.277.1402 or sent in the US mail to the SDPA office at 4699 Murphy Canyon Road, Suite 105, San Diego, CA 92123. 

Once your application and supporting documetation has been received, it will be submitted to the Board of Directors.  The Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month.  Upon approval, you will be notified via e-mail and a Welcome Package will follow shortly.

Full Member Through 2009
    

Candidates must be psychologists, licensed to practice in the state of California, and must be in good standing with the California Board of Psychology.

PLEASE NOTE: 
All applications are submitted to the SDPA Board of Directors for approval.  When applying for Full Membership, candidates must submit a copy of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a copy of their California State License via fax at 619.297.5428 or US Mail.  All documentation must be received before an application is submitted to the Board of Directors.  The SDPA Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month.  Upon approval you will be notified via e-mail and your membership will be activated immediately. 

Full Member Through 2010
    

Candidates must be psychologists, licensed to practice in the state of California, and must be in good standing with the California Board of Psychology.

Full Member

Candidates have earned a doctoral degree in the field of psychology within the last two (2) years and may or may not be licensed in the State of California.

All applications are submitted to the SDPA Board of Directors for approval.  When applying for Associate Membership, candidates must submit a copy of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a copy of their degree via fax at 619.297.5428 or US Mail.  All documentation must be received before an application is submitted to the Board of Directors.  The SDPA Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month.  Upon approval you will be notified via e-mail and your membership will be activated immediately. 

Early Career Professional (3 - 4 Years Post Awarding of PhD or PsyD)

Student Member
    

Candidates are currently enrolled in a graduate program in the field of psychology.

PLEASE NOTE: 
All applications are submitted to the SDPA Board of Directors for approval.  When applying for Student Membership, candidates must submit verification of enrollment in a graduate program or in as an undergrad, submit verification of declaration in the field of psychology.  Supporting documentation may be faxed to 619.297.5428 or US Mail.  TRANSCRIPTS ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE FORM OF VERIFICATION.  All documentation must be received before an application is submitted to the Board of Directors.  The SDPA Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month.  Upon approval you will be notified via e-mail and your membership will be activated immediately. 

Associate Member
    

Candidates have earned a doctoral degree in the field of psychology, but are not yet licensed, or are licensed in a state or province other than California.

PLEASE NOTE: 
All applications are submitted to the SDPA Board of Directors for approval.  When applying for Associate Membership, candidates must submit a copy of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a copy of their degree via fax at 619.297.5428 or US Mail.  All documentation must be received before an application is submitted to the Board of Directors.  The SDPA Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month.  Upon approval you will be notified via e-mail and your membership will be activated immediately. 

Life / Retired Member (Fully Retired)
    

Candidates must be a licensed psychologists who have had full membership for ten or more years in the Association and have reached the age of 70 or who have fully retired from any mental health work at any age or has ceased the practice of psychology due to illness. If practice is resumed, member may not retain this status.

Life / Retired Member (Semi Retired)
    

Candidates must be a licensed psychologists who have had full membership for ten or more years in the Association and have reached the age of 70 and are working part-time.

Affiliate Member (Individual)
    

Candidates are licensed professionals other than licensed psychologists, such as MD, JD, MSW, RN, LCSW or MFCC who do not meet the criteria for Associate membership.  Candidates shall be in full agreement with and support the principles set forth in SDPA's Mission Statement and be of good moral character.  

PLEASE NOTE:

Affiliate Member (Association)
    

Candidates are Associations or Organizations in the Mental Health Field.  Candidates shall be in full agreement with and support the principles set forth in SDPA's Mission Statement and be of good moral character.
